I bought a pair of these years ago in brown (so they last a long time) but I had a need for a solid black pair of boots and these were on sale to my pleasant surprise. They are extremely flimsy -- the leather is thin, with no liner, and the edges are all raw. I am a size 11 in most shoes, but decided to order these in a 10. Hopefully I can find some kind of heel pad or something because the whole point of buying flats is walking in them. Love the style. So sad to have to send them back because they are cute. The major problem I had with it is the sizing. Needed to order a half a size larger because the toe box was too small. So I exchanged them for 8.5 and they are PERFECT. Ill eventually wear them until theyre for real worn. Not happy with that, but love the look so I couldn't bear to send them back. Right away, they sent me out a replacement pair to make sure I received my order. My only complaint is that they were not available in brown.
Fit was great. These are nice and loose and slouchy in the shaft which makes for a comfortable fit as well as a fun look.

Alas, they just arrived today, and even though my feet are on the normal to thin side, these boots were just too tight across the top of the foot and the sides. I wanted a pair of slouchy, pull-on, low-heeled, black boots. I haven't needed to put in an extra insole or padding and have been able to stand and walk in them for my 6-8hr workdays. I wear a 8.5 in Frye boots and a 9 for any running shoes. Despite multiple reviews that recommended getting a full size up, I found it to be way too large. Unfortunate, because they look so cute in the picture. Fits a bit snug, but I am going to order my next pair a size bigger. I ended up ordering my true size based on how other Steve Madden boots have fit me.
I purchased the lightest color which I thought was like a white but it was more of a gray, and I don't wear a lot of gray so it was sometimes hard for me to find an outfit to wear them with but I overall like them a lot! In the pictures it's not super obvious that the buckles are just really loose and flop all over. For the latest in luxury brands & exclusive collabs. Lightly cushioned footbed provides added comfort. They are unfinished leather inside - not smooth like in many typical leather boots. One other reviewer said the same which is what led me to follow suit. These are interesting in that they're reasonably comfortable, well-made, and fit well, but some of the design elements are a little odd. I read all the views and couldn't decide whether to order my true size or go up a half size since the other reviews were about 50/50 as to whether these shoes ran small or true to size. A problem that should be fixed as the video on this boot with this color shows a worn heel and even stresses that being a favorite quality. The leather is pebbled, which cant be seen online. These shoes were about a full size larger than labeled. The most disappointing thing about the Banddit boots was the lack of any sort of inner lining. Im disappointed with that but not enough to go through the return process. If there was a lining or finished inside, I would have tried a larger size, but the discomfort and difficulty getting the boot on with that rough interior was just not worth it. I've already worn them so am not able to return them. They are especially good if you have narrow feet, as I do. Bewareseem to run small! Zappos customer service was excellent, as the first pair I ordered got lost in the mail. You can purchase a much higher quality, flattering boot anywhere. Beautiful boot, terrible sizing.
I love all of my Steve Madden shoes. Perfect boots. The sole is very stiff and made from a vintage-type last, so the toes point upward. I like it- it reminds me a bit of the 90s look of wearing suspenders hanging down instead of over your shoulders- but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I have had many Steve Madden shoes in the past, and I always have been a 7.5 However, when the 7.5 arrived, they were SO INSANELY SMALL. I couldn't even get my foot past the ankle. Product measurements were taken using size 7.5, width M. Please note that measurements may vary by size. Unusual, since I normally have to size up in Steve Madden's. These boots were my first purchase from Zappos, but I have been impressed with their service for sure!
I got these boots right at the end of the season and I loved them when I first got them! Otherwise love the boots. They're a little narrow in the toes, which is surprising for someone who wears a 5.5 and I'll probably put a cushioning insole in, but so far they've held up nicely on strolls. These are comfortable boots, true to size, but a little more sloppy looking when wearing than I thought they would be. I believe the hype is with the name, and not for what is being sold here. This boot is soooo comfortable I would highly recommend! Based on this, I was confident when ordering my usual size (7.5).
Cool looking boot with soft leather and a sturdy foot bed. I sometimes wear them up, sometimes fold the whole boot over (not how you are supposed to wear them but looks cool). I do think I will get lots of wear out of them, but I don't expect them to last more than a couple of seasons. The leather is a little thin, but these boots were very comfortable right out of the box--thanks to the adjustable buckle design. It does help to punch in extra holes and shorten the strap length for a more secure feel, yet, the design allows the boot to be folded and convertible to more of an ankle length vs. mid-calf. These are definitely not for someone with skinny ankles or calves. I had to remove about 7" of the leather strap in order for them to fit correctly. I could barely get my foot in. I think 1/2 size up would be prefect. True to size. With a leather upper, wraparound buckled straps along the shaft, a plain round toe, and a low block heel, the Steve Madden Banddit Boot will lend a rustic aesthetic to your trendsetting style. Also, as someone with a calf thats bigger than their forearm, it can be difficult to find cute boots that dont look suffocating. These were awful! I would not expect them to hold up for many years, like a good leather shoe should. Disappointed for walking comfort. I just got these in the mail, and I am pretty disappointed.
Definitely not worth the price. I've never owned a pair of 8.5s in my life, but now I know that for Steve Madden moto boots, I guess I'm an entire size larger! Not brown like the pictures. I don't know why the sizing is so off. Steve Madden boots - 5 stars for style / 2 stars for walking comfort - awesome with leggings or skinny jeans & slouchy socks. Overall fits larger than usual especially since there are no zippers and the straps are quite loose. And, at least for me, I can't tighten the buckle without needing to puncture new holes. The leather is gorgeous and the style is super cute and different. Am exchanging to try my actual size. I have liked Steve Madden shoes in the past, and expected them to be high quality, but these appear cheaply made. You can't cinch the buckle without losing the pull-on feature. Basing my sizing off the Raszcal boots, I bought my usual size of 7.5 and these were quite snug; they were narrower and shorter if comparing to the aforementioned comparison boot. They seemed comfortable at first, but after walking some distance I discovered the heel is too wide and the strappy design is positioned wrong to strap tightly & keep heel in place. These went back! The strap across the top of the foot is adjustable and the strap that wraps around the ankle & calf is adjustable too. Great style and comfortable out the box. I read the reviews carefully - they ranged from pretty true to size or that they ran slightly bigger than expected.
These are simple boots, with a Madden name. You would think that since the buckles are loose and the tough is flappy that they would just fall apart, but they didn't one bit! Love the style and the feel of the boot. Its black like the rest of the boot. I have only once paid this much for a pair of shoes, and those were handmade leather sandals. Easy pull-on construction with adjustable buckle closure. I am a plus size woman, but for some reason, my feet and hands have always been boney and very narrow. I have very skinny/narrow feet. would recommend sizing up 1/2-1 size so you can easily slip them off and on rather than unbuckle each time.
I usually wear a 7.5, but the 7 fits more comfortably. They truly felt like 6 1/2s! This was a deal breaker for me. My only complaint with this one is that the shoes I received DID NOT have the worn heel or sole. These are really nice boots! Walking any distance my heel sloshes around and I get a toe cramp! Purchased them in black. The buckles across the toes are functional so you can adjust there, which is great.
