I sprayed it under 2 hours ago and its nearly vanished. Marc Jacobs Daisy Ever So Fresh Eau de Parfum, New Magnolias This Summer (2022): L'Eau D'Issey Eau & Magnolia, Miu Miu Twist Eau de Magnolia, and Beautiful Magnolia Intense Estee Lauder. But boy, howdy, I sure do dislike Amazing Grace. I actually think it has decent longevity, although it is very soft - I can smell it on my skin and clothes at the end of the day. Doesn't smell the same and lasts a mere 30 minutes. Its perfect for me. Poor projection with even poorer sillage. Although I agree with those of you who say that the new formula does not last as long as it used to, it does stay in your clothes, somehow. It doesn't last very long. Smells like laundry detergent. Do you even remotely care about the opinions of your long-standing customers? I would have liked to have tried the original. I love pure grace, amazing grace, and fresh cream. This is definitely a "fresh out of the shower" scent, so it's the kind of thing I would wear to the office or on a (casual, daytime) first date or just to hang out at my boyfriend's place to watch Netflix. This was always my signature scent until a couple of years ago when I started to get into more niche fragrances and wanted to find something a little more sophisticated. Nope nope nope! When I tell you a photo of this perfume should be next to the word grandma in the dictionary. Smells very clean like your clothes are clean and you have showered without doubt but totally unremarkable and mundane. I bought the edt version of this. Even though Im usually a fan of floral/rose notes! Kind of similar to the small white bottle of narciso rodriguez. Gorgeous scent! I normally love fresh scents, but this smells so cheap. It is just so CLEAN. It stays like that a while and then dries down to a very powdery smell with a hint of rose. It's like a tamed Dune tempered with citrus and florals. Wouldn't wear this if I was dead. It smells feminine, sophisticated, and clean. Now you may as well actually not wear any! The old version under the original women owners was a winner, everyone always asked me what I was wearing and said it smelled great and it lasted forever. Amazing Grace was launched in 1996. It smells comforting to me. It has changed since my first bottle 10 years ago, having said that, I still think it's easy like Sunday morning, relaxing, clean, and simple. This is a fresh-out-of-the-shower subtle clean scent that never offends. If rose perfumes are your jam, then this is for you. It smells closely to the gap fragrance near. Its soft and sexy in my opinion and when your lover smells it ,he will imagine you fresh out the shower or taking a shower with you ;) . It's the quiet girl at school who does her work, shows up on time and doesn't cause drama. It is clean and soapy with a little muskiness, IMO. Unfortunately, when Coty bought and reformulated this scent (EDT), they murdered the longevity and sillage. As someone who is generally drawn to heavy scents, Amazing Grace is an outlier in my typical selection. Smells like you're fresh out the shower and rubbed on some sunscreen. I decided to spritz this on today from a bottle that is around 12 years old. I've always been curious about this line and it has been picked up by my favorite department store. I smell that type of scent in the air often, especially among more mature women, but I never liked it to begin with. Smells like a mosquito repellent to me. However at Ulta there were two Amazing Grace bottles, one had a white sticker and smelled like the one at Dillard's: soapy, quite strong. I can only smell a shampoo base, as if I spilled a little J & J No More Tears on my skin and forgot to wash it off. That's good. Amazing Grace is mine. I recently bought the EDT at a discount pharmacy and I'm finding it to be a very challenging perfume. I wish neutral were an option on how I feel about this. Its what I wear when Im feeling vulnerable. However the longevity and sillage suck. At first spray, I was like Justin Bieber in that tiktok sound: immediately no. I can't tell you how many times I have continued to buy it in the hopes the original scented formula came back. it doesn't last a long time but i enjoyed it at the time i used it. For some reason this reminds me of trips to the zoo. It's great! Amazing Grace is one of those scents that just smell divine on everyone, including men. At first sniff, I really hated this. Scents trigger my migraines, so I have to be very careful, but this is perfect. None of the sweetness from jasmine or rose emerges, just the fresh white floral aspect. I did obtain a first run of Coty when they got their hands on this company and it smelled just like my pre coty. This had been my favorite perfume for a year. This smells like a cup of Jasmine green tea and light rose incense burning in the background. Gone in 15 minutes. Just no. No grace at all. It actually smells very clean. Blind bought it in full size because it was hyped as an amazing work-safe perfume.. It's a nice floral. Find the vintage version if you can. powdery musk also sinks in after the first notes. I have a love/hate for it lol sometimes when I wear this its amazing other times its overwhelming lol. Its crisp-clean, whereas I prefer cozy-clean. Good grab and go. Not for me. It seems like more of a skin scent on me but longevity was pretty decent (I have the EDP). Oh, and another thing ! At first it is a beachy clean smell but then the light citrus and gentle floral are subtle and delicate. Not really a fan. This is a review of the EdP, not the EdT or fragrance spray or whatever Philosophy used to call it. I loved this and wore it for a long time but now it gives me a headache. I'm glad I did, because it helped me ween myself into wearing the fragrance. I won't be buying this scent anymore. This perfume was destroyed when Coty took over Philosophy. Coty, what have you done?! A green curry and a few moscatos later, my wrists seemed to attach themselves to my face. It's meh. Plus, why bother with a perfume that has the staying power of a body spray at 5 times the price. Philosophy makes fragrances I can wear without irritating my allergies or giving me headache. It's a bit too bold and formal smelling for me. My favorite part about this scent is the prominent musk in the base notes. But she is lovely. If I smelled this on another person, I would think it was nice (male or female). I mean, how is that even possible? I dont care for it though. My mother's signature fragrance, and I absolutely love it on her! But I'm not a big fan of clean powdery scents. I don't like it. But I feel that the specific combination of the notes and how they are blended make this fragrance unique in my opinion. Amazing Grace USED to be a fabulous beautiful perfume with light clean floral tones and a strong sillage with longevity but no more ever since the product line was bought out by Coty around 2007. ish.). This stuff is lovely. It has a musty floral thing going on which makes me think of the smell of all the animals floating in the air and the sunscreen mixing with the plants growing everywhere. However it is not complex or super perfumey. lasts a very long time like 6 hours. There are many complaints online and at the Coty website about the change in scent, all asking for the original formula to be brought back. Not for me. I certainly agree that this is a great office scent, and at least close to being unisex, particularly in "formal" situations and in warm weather, if worn discreetly. Sorry for those who like this perfume but this is not what I expected base on my research. I would consider this the antithesis of musky. Do not recommend it. And it has zero staying power. This new bottle still has the same lovely scent but it is so weak. Then you get the musk. When I first smelled this, my initial reaction was just "yuck." Quite clean and soft. soap and cheap dollar store talcum powder, and BF white musk spray. Very clean, pretty and simple. I hope this helps someone! It's very nice and airy, kind of reminds me of an angel on a cloud (the name probably gives that impression too) but so far I don't find it groundbreaking. It's the kind of fragrance that makes people think you just smell like that--they're more likely to guess that it's your shampoo, soap, or body lotion that's making you smell so good, and they would not expect it to be your perfume. It is not disturbing (like Chanel N5) on me. It's such a clean and feminine fragrance but I also find it to be a bit strong so I wear it away from my face so as to only catch occasional whiffs of it throughout the day. | Deutsch | Espaol | Franais | etina | Italiano | | Polski | Portugus | | | Nederlands | Srpski | Romn | | | | |, Copyrights 2006-2022 Fragrantica.com perfumes magazine - All Rights Reserved - do not copy anything without prior written permission. It was a gift from my parents, and now that I don't see them much their gifts are more precious. This screams GRANDMA. It's also good for me personally because I am a massage therapist, and strong scents can bother my clients. If you like soapy florals, I think this is a safe blind buy, especially because you can get a mini for a song at various retailers and ebay. It's no one I would wear for any special occasion or anything but it's good for daily use, maybe at the office where you may not want to smell too strong, or even to wear to bed. I wanted a clean, soft fragrance and this is not it. I adore this scent, and see it as light, friendly, warm, etc. It smelled like nothing but sunscreen to me, and I was ready to denounce it as absolute crap. Reminds me of opening a fresh pack of disposable diapers. It also has great projection. They never said anything about me smelling "feminine". Blind bought this today and tested it.. Some days, Amazing Grace loves me and I get this lovely bright smell that turns into a mature musk. Fresh clean soap & freesia is pretty much all I pick up I this perfume. Because it is not a wimpy scent, I tend to go with no more than 2 sprayslasts me all day. It's inoffensive. It's not offensive at all. Sadly it's just not that special! Now I smell mostly alcohol with a small remnant of what the scent once was - no staying power and zero sillage. I know a lot of people have said that Coty may have messed around with it so I'm conscious that the reformulation may be what's made it less appealing. Love the scent and it doesnt give me headaches so its perfect to wear every day and for every moment. Aroma by Costa Brazil: Candidate For Best Fragrance 2022? Other days it starts off harsh and alcoholic, evolving into a clingy citrus-musk that lasts on my skin even after vigorous scrubs with rubbing alchohol/vinegar/baking soda. Hubs said I smelled like Aunt Nancy, and she may actually wear this but I haven't asked. I really enjoy this scent. Amazing Grace is really out of character for me, but I think if I can get past the soapy/sunscreen bit at the beginning, then it could be a promising addition to my collection, because it smells like #adulting and I honestly need that vibe in my life. Why do I adore this scent?? To me, this is the essence of the word "beautiful". The only drawback. Perfect for day as night! Sweetened floral, mostly freesia anchored in a light musk. But. Amazing Grace is amazing! Get it while you can! Same with Pure Grace. Not my cup of tea. This fragrance is the scent of innocence. Clean and breezy. So for me, definitely an aspirational scent. The label on the bottom has a copyright of 2004. I'm so glad I checked here before ordering. Bought in Dec 2017 at Ulta Batch code 7208 made in July 2017. It smells like (expensive) bubblebath and is just light, feminine, fresh, and almost relaxing. obsessed with this scent. Or was the original formula sabotaged? I get mostly the white florals and a small *hint* of citrus. It's mostly clean white musk and unspecified white flowers. it's the pungent grapefruit and rose to me. This smells like Pronto cleaning products for furniture. This floral is clean and just a bit heavier than a lot of what is out there right now. I got it as a gift from my cousin natalie and passed it on to my roommate kara. Its a light scent that remindes me of summer! I must have the reformulated version. I thought omg how come I smell so much this shampoo. I keep this on hand. When I want to go without a fragrance, I smell kind of like this already. Mind, the rest of this is a pretty floral with citrus that dies off pretty fast. After a couple hours I really have to concentrate in order to smell ittoo bad :(. This works so good with my body chemistry, it is just divine. I tried a sample of this which was a "dab" instead of a "spray" type. Longevity and projection are average. It puts me in mind of a weaker Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP. But as it dries down, the screechy musky soap dies down and it becomes bearable. This is not a scent I would usually ever go for but I was able to get it at a good price so I thought why not? this is very clean soapy scent that its so light that you can barely smell it. It is very unpleasant. It is clean but it is more warm, not so fresh but more like clean skin. This would be a great work/school, grocery store, summer bedtime and family gathering perfume. I'd be happy for my clothes to smell like this, but not me. Just wait! I blind-bought amazing grace edp thinking it was a safe blind-buy and it is not. When I tried it in warmer weather, I realized that it was quite a fizzy and fun fragrance. Would be interested to see if I could find an original to compare them both. Top notes are Bergamot, Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Freesia, Jasmine and Rose; base note is Musk. Maybe EDT and EDP? Very fresh scent, but a bit too much of a cleaning supplies smell. This is yucks. Sadly I dont get the hype around it. Now it cannot even compare. I smell iridescent bubbles floating on a bubble bath. What remains is a soft freesia that stays very close to the skin despite my going heavy on the trigger. The more it settles on my skin, though, the more it smells like a batch of fresh laundry. First blast of screechy heady white florals that immediately dissipates and becomes subdued. If we could use the term "starter" scent, this should be under the definition and close to the top of the list. This is a lighter fragrance, as far as projection and staying power, so you can wear it when you are going to be close to people or to places that don't appreciate sillage. For rose that is a bit "feminine," I'd likely reach for Fresh's Cannabis Rose, as that one has clearer and more interesting notes (to me). Pity cause I would totally buy this if it was better quality. This perfume makes me feel like I just got out of the shower, have a spotless home, and really have my sh*t together. I enjoy this fragrance quite a bit and used to buy the lotion reularly when I could afford it. top is lots of manadrine with the other tart citruses present then a middle with freesia, jasmine and rose all held together by musk; very common and boring. So modern and so different. I love the scent but it's really weak. Fresh, clean, soapy out the shower smell. My boyfriend gave me a sample pack of Amazing Grace and three flankers. If you like clean fragrances, you should try this, together with the body lotion and possibly the shower gel too.
