We were very happy with the food (steak and goat cheese stuffed chicken) and the alcohol (we did the highest package). The food was delicious - we had the goat cheese chicken and filet mignon. My guests gave me so many compliments about her. Honestly, I was concerned when Linsey told me they had a new chef. She certainly did not go out of her way to get our business and it was quite sad because I was in love with the ballroom. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend the Westin! The service was excellent as I said above. The room itself is so beautiful, hardly any extra decor is needed. I think there has been some turnover in coordinators from prior reviews that mentioned poor communication, because Kathy was a gem to work with. ook so a wedding planner isn't entirely essential. Not only did getting married in the historical ballroom make me feel like a princess, but the Westin staff made the experience as stress free as possible. The ballroom is unlike any other venue in Columbus, which is just part of the reason we fell in love with it. I know everyone worked really hard to make this a special day and I am glad that it showed. We absolutely loved using the Westin as our reception venue. The service was unbeatable, the food was actually delicious (which never happens at weddings), and at the end of the night the guests could simply take an elevator back to their hotel room. Wow! The pictures were stunning and it added to the romantic feeling and our color scheme of gold and blush pink. gh out our long engagement ( a year and a half) I started off with Craig and he emailed me back with all my hundreds of question I had in the beginning. We actually had extra guests attend the brunch and they were able to accomidate everyone very quickly. This is not your typical "wedding food" it was delicious. and in the end the only vendor I had a problem with was the one that was New York based! (and we toured at least 15 reception venues) The staff were VERY professional, friendly, and we had the same people for our rehearsal dinner, reception, and brunch the next morning which made it easy and personable. These are best for interaction with a leader seated at the head of the setup. When I didn't touch my dinner, the chef and multiple staff came to check on me to make sure everything was ok and even brought me a fresh plate to my room at the end of the night. e them feel welcomed and the amenities were plenty to where they didn't have to leave the property!!! The food wasn't great. She responded quickly to emails and the never-ending questions I had leading up to the wedding. The day could not have went better and the Westin staff was fantastic, both at the hotel overall and those working the event. They went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend so special. Many hotels have elegant "boardrooms" for 10 to 20 people, equipped with full audiovisual capabilities, a writing board, cork board and a flip chart. If you're looking for a beautiful, easy/one-stop-shopping venue the Westin is a great choice! My husband and I were very happy with The Westin. When my husband checked in they said they no longer had the corner king suite available and they had to upgrade us to the presidental suite! We were told more times than we could count by guests that our wedding was the most elegant and classiest wedding they had ever attended! The Westin made sure all guests received their welcome bags, decorations and seating were set up as we requested, and went above and beyond (Ex- taking gifts and cards to the safe in our room, cleaning up our gold confetti exit, early check-in for the bridal party, helping us take decorations upstairs earlier in the week, giving my husband and I a few trays of appetizers to munch on after the ceremony, and staffing the whisky bar for our late night). The hotel restaurant will be under renovation between 11/28/21 and 3/31/22. We had 60+ rooms reserved at the hotel for out of town guests. Although we had a wedding planner, I think if you had your ceremony at the Westin too, you really wouldnt need one! From the waiter who just waited on my husband and I to the bartender that kept extra of my signature drink so I could enjoy it throughout the night and the concierge service to my room, thank you!! How she had a drink ready for repeat guests and could make so many different types of fun drinks. I kept reminding her that I wanted to talk about the bar package. Appropriate for interactive discussions and note-taking sessions for fewer than 25 people. This hotel provided the entire package to us. WONDERFUL. Melissan did such a great job orchestrating everything and making sure everything was perfect. The staff was extremely helpful. The tasting to plan our menu was an event in itself, my parents were so pleased and excited, none of us could wait, the food was beyond anything "wedding" experience I have ever had, and its truly the best food at any fine dining restaurant. Advice for any brides/grooms- recommend your guests to book suites ASAP. The WESTIN provides the centerpieces, table linens, chairs, all glassware, flatware, china, bar, etcOh yea that's included in the set pricing. In addition, the venue was one of the few hotel venues that included the alcohol in the food price. ng my wedding in my home town not knowing any vendors firsthand.
