Dont want to take away from the hacker in this case. Im using such setup to pull air bubbles out of the supply hose (RO pumps do a terrible job when having to pressurise air, they just want to pump water). I doubt they pull a huge vacuum, but it gets the job done. The ultimate pressure should ideally be between - 0.4torr and 0.04torr. A big factor that gives this pump an edge over the others is its detachable resin trap lid.

Id say that ideally you would want both, the vacuum chamber first to get rid of most of the trapped air, and the pressure pot for the actual resin curing to shrink any residual gas to the point its either invisible or compressed enough that it will escape the cured resin over time. You can put your resin in it for a few minutes in the mixing cup to pull some of the bubbles out, but watch it to make sure the resin doesn't flow out of the top of the cup.
